“What Would Life Be if We Had No Courage to Attempt Anything?”

I went to to the “Immersive Van Gogh” experience in New York, and was captured pondering this quote.

I went to to the “Immersive Van Gogh” experience in New York, and was captured pondering this quote.

I kept reading this quote which was painted on the wall at the exit from the Van Gogh exhibit down on South Street.

You read it after viewing the show.. after you had immersed yourself in his bold genius.

"What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?"

Vincent Van Gogh.

When we set our mind to something, we can accomplish great things. Amazing things.

This first week of September is always a milestone.

For me, for the first time in 23 years, I am not sending anyone off to school. Not even to college. I am done.

To add insult to injury, my youngest is moving to Manhattan tomorrow.

It will be the beginning of a true Empty Nest--when there is no expectation that anyone will be living here anymore full time. Mind boggling.

I can't really process that. I'm not letting myself truly feel it.

So for now, I will just think about this quote. Good luck to all the kids heading back to school today.

And good luck to me. I hope I have the courage to attempt some great things.
