No Fear of Strangers

The author is standing at a microphone holding a book jokingly trying to get people to notice her.

I think my dream may have finally come true.

But I'm not sure yet, and I'm a little afraid to find out.

And my dream isn't outlandish, or impossible, rather quite doable, IMHO.

Here it is:

I want to be approached by a stranger.

What?

Yup.

What I mean, is I want someone to come to me for a writing job who is completely outside my network. Not someone I know from BIG, or the Chamber, or any of the other groups I'm involved with. Someone who shows up because of all the time and effort I have put into my social accounts, my blog, and my website.

Because they put a search into Google, and there I am!

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my referrals, and hope they keep coming.

But there is something oh so glamorous about being discovered by a stranger.

And someone reached out today. Based on her email, we don't have anyone in common. (Last time I thought it may have happened was with a woman from Zimbabwe, but it turned out we had a common contact.)

So I haven't called the woman back yet.

Holding onto my dream for a few more moments. I'll let you know!
