You Can't Pay Me to Do That!
Are you in the thick of it with all your volunteer projects? Or, perhaps you are looking to get more involved with a non-profit or networking group? There are so many great organizations worthy of our time. You can also volunteer for groups that have impact beyond your local community.
My favorite organizations focus on education, women's empowerment, library, theatre, and providing food for the underserved community.
But if your passion is helping raise funds for a specific disease; working with rescue animals; creating awareness for a program; working in arts, sports, or music; educating on environmental issues, or getting the word out on your favorite political candidates, there are plenty of groups for you to volunteer with.
Spring is a busy time for many nonprofits, as galas and fundraising campaigns are in full swing. Many do slow down over the summer, so late spring is time for the last hurrah before things get quiet.
I had a busy few days this past week as my groups had events that overlapped with each other. It took a few days for me to recuperate. but I am feeling ready to rock & roll again.
Volunteering can be exhausting. But it's so satisfying when you know you have put all your efforts into something that has done good for a specific community.
You make friends.
You raise money.
You help people.
You make a difference.
Wins all around.
Don't know where to start? Identify your own interests then find the appropriate groups that could use help. There will be plenty and they will be thrilled to have you!
