Want to Show How Smart You Are? Then be the EXPERT
Don't click "share."
That is, don't click share and then run when you are trying to interact with a post or article.
Yeah, it's nice to be supportive of our social and real-life friends by sharing their posts, photos, and articles with our networks, but it would mean so much more if we added a little sumthin' sumthin' to intro the post.
We could even get something out of it ourselves.
For many years, I wrote for a group of attorneys. I created engaging posts on their group social media page and several of them shared regularly; my content showed up verbatim on their individual law practice pages. But that was it. No intro. No comment. No reasoning.
It was nice, but it just wasn't enough.
It would have been more impactful for each of their practices if they explained WHY they were sharing.
Did they agree with the sentiment?
Do they think it's absurd and want to refute it?
Is there something similar it reminds them of?
This goes for national news and trending memes.
Social media pros...WHY are you not joining Threads?
Parent coaches...how does the Barbie movie impact self-image?
Wardrobe consultants...what would you have worn to the Met Gala?
By utilizing content that is already out there and putting your personal spin on it, you are actually positioning yourself as an expert with an important opinion.
Be sure you add a little something to the next post you share.
