Does the Sentiment from Your High School Yearbook Quote Still Resonate with You Today?

A girl I went to high school with challenged everyone in a Facebook post this morning to share their high school yearbook quote. Did you have one of those?

All day, I tried to remember mine but could not. So I dug out the old yearbook.

"Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow is but a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope.” (Sanskrit proverb)

Cool! It still resonates with me.

Last weekend was my daughter’s bridal shower. It was a busy, fun-filled, crazy time in my house with family, dogs, in-laws-to-be, and too much food and drink. Several times during the weekend I stopped myself in my tracks to take a breath and live in the moment.

I was surrounded by so many of the important people in my life; my daughter was beginning an exciting new chapter; the weeks of planning for the shower came together in a wonderful success.

I thought about my ability to “take a moment” and was happy. So much of life is spent rushing from one event to the next.

Today, well lived, makes every yesterday a dream of happiness. Every tomorrow a vision of hope. That 17-year-old me knew her stuff!

Hope you enjoy your today!
